Help Save the Library!

The Rock Springs Public Library is challenging you!!  That’s right.  We are challenging you to help us raise $1,000 in one month!

The library was given the opportunity to participate in a matching fundraiser by local business Hartje Lumber, Inc. through the Hartje Family Charitable Foundation.  Hartje Family Chartible Foundation is willing to match our funds up to $1,000 from now through September 15th.  But we need your help to do this!

We are asking you to please make a donation to the library anytime from now until September 15th.  There are three different ways you can donate.  You can stop by the library, 101 First Street, Rock Springs, WI and drop off money.  You can send a check in the mail to Rock Springs Public Library, PO Box 246, Rock Springs, WI 53961.  The last way is to donate online by visiting our online fundraiser at http://www.gofundme.com/mnkzv0

The proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards the financial shortfall of the 2015 budget.  The Rock Springs Public Library is currently operating out of the expected income and these proceeds will keep the library open.  Without you support and donation, we are likely to close early and may not be able stay open in the 2016 year.

The Rock Springs Public Library will be providing over 75 programs this year to youth and adults in the area reaching over 900 people in 2015. These programs develop and assist in the learning of life skills for patrons.  Programs are mostly hands-on sessions that develop an appreciation for skills like cooking, crafting, arts, movement, literacy, environmental awareness, play and much more. It is our hope that these educational events will help inspire a lifelong appreciation for libraries and encourage involvement in learning and use of public spaces.

We hope you are up for the challenge!!!  If you have any questions, please contact Haley at the library at 522-5050 or director [at] rockspringslibrary.com (director[at]rockspringslibrary[dot]com)
